John Carroll students spend Spring Break 2017 on a study tour of Italy

Alexa Webber participated in a study abroad opportunity offered by John Carroll University's Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Cultures during March. Webber was among 20 students who traveled to Sicily and Rome as part of the course, "Literary Parks: The Mosaic of Sicily." Dr. Santa Casciani and Dr. Luigi Ferri, teach the course and coordinated the trip to Italy during the University's Spring Break. The class visited places representative of the materials covered in class, including churches and museums. Among the highlights of the trip were visits to the Valley of the Temples and the house and burial place of the Nobel Laureate writer, Luigi Pirandello, in Agrigento. The study abroad experience concluded in Rome, where students went on a walking tour that included St. Peter's Basilica and the Jesuit Church of Saint Ignatius and Church of Gesu.
