Kathleen English named 2018 Beaudry Award winner

2018 Apr 18

Kathleen ("Katie") B. English, a member of the John Carroll University Class of 2018, is the winner of this year's Beaudry Award. The award is given to the graduating senior who has been voted by his or her senior class as most deserving of this honor, based on four qualities: leadership, commitment to Christian values, academic achievement, and service. This award will be presented at the University's commencement ceremony on May 20.

A double major in Sociology and Criminology, and Peace, Justice, and Human Rights, English has served as a student liaison in the Center for Service and Social Action (CSSA) for the past three years. She also has served as co-chair for the Fatima Family Food Drive, which supports 150 families in the Cleveland area with a Thanksgiving meal and groceries. English has been a student coordinator for Campus Ministry's immersion experiences; she has traveled to Immokalee, Florida, as well as El Salvador and Honduras. She is active in Carroll Faith Communities, and is also employed as a campus tour guide.

English is the daughter of Frank and Brenda English of Rockville, Maryland.
